A cutting-edge platform developed for a leading forensic science laboratory (under NDA) that revolutionized their analysis workflows. The system combines mobile apps for field data collection (iOS/Android) with an advanced data science-driven laboratory analysis system. Field contractors use the mobile apps to receive work orders, access instructions, and submit data directly from investigation sites. This data integrates seamlessly with the laboratory system, where sophisticated algorithms process complex forensic analyses in seconds rather than days. The web-based laboratory interface provides intuitive access to results and comprehensive data visualization. The platform represents a significant technological advancement in forensic science, successfully modernizing traditional laboratory processes through automation and seamless data flow.

My Role

As Lead Architect and Development Manager, I designed and implemented the entire cloud architecture that powered all platforms. I created complex data models that successfully translated intricate laboratory processes into efficient database structures. Built the complete backend infrastructure and established robust DevOps processes. A key part of my role was mentoring our data science team on infrastructure best practices while managing cloud resources. I assembled and led a diverse team of iOS, Android, and web developers, working closely with them to ensure smooth integration across all system components. While initially heavily involved in hands-on development, I gradually shifted to architecture and team leadership as the project grew, though remaining deeply engaged in technical decision-making.

  • Developed containerized environments for the data science team's analysis tools, with automated scaling to handle intensive forensic processing jobs.
  • Built a contractor portal with automated work order delivery, GPS tracking, and structured data collection forms for field evidence gathering.
